Legal Services for International Clients & Expats
Navigating German and Cross-Border Law with Confidence.
Legal matters involving more than one jurisdiction require profound legal expertise, a deep understanding of international treaties, and tactical foresight. Based in the international hub of Frankfurt am Main, I provide specialized legal counsel for expats and international clients in all matters of German and cross-border Family and Inheritance Law.
Before founding my own boutique firm, I gained extensive experience working in leading international law firms (Big Law). Today, I combine this high standard of legal precision and strategic, economic thinking with the empathy, accessibility, and individualized focus of a highly specialized practice. My goal is to guide you through the complexities of the legal system, create clarity, resolve conflicts amicably where possible, and rigorously protect your rights in court when necessary.
All consultations, correspondence, and document drafting can be conducted entirely in English.
Clear Guidance in a Global World.
Whether you are an expat living in the Rhine-Main area or have legal interests in Germany from abroad, I am here to represent your interests.
International Family Law
Navigating a separation or family dispute is challenging, especially when different legal systems are involved. I offer comprehensive advice on:
- Divorce & Recognition: Handling international divorce proceedings and the recognition of foreign divorces in Germany.
- Children’s Rights: Representation in custody proceedings and sensitive cases of international child abduction (HCCH).
- Financial Security: Expert advice on maintenance (spousal/child support) and matrimonial property law.
- Strategic Planning: Drafting of marriage contracts (prenuptial/postnuptial agreements) for binational couples.
- Procedural Law: Specialized knowledge in Private International Law and International Civil Procedure Law.
International Inheritance Law
Cross-border succession planning and estate administration require a precise tactical approach to avoid tax pitfalls and legal conflicts. My services include:
- Estate Administration: Handling inheritance law proceedings in an international context.
- Global Wills: Drafting wills that comply with international regulations (e.g., EU Succession Regulation).
- Certificates: Representation in inheritance certificate proceedings and applications for the European Certificate of Succession.
- Formalities: Recognition proceedings and the official recognition of foreign documents and judgments in Germany.
English-Speaking Support & Mediation
Amicable solutions are often the most sustainable, especially in complex international constellations. While I do not act as a neutral mediator myself, I specialize in providing expert legal support throughout the mediation process:
- Mediation Advocacy: I accompany and advise you as your legal representative during mediation proceedings conducted in English. This ensures that your interests are protected and that any agreement reached is legally sound under German and international law.
- Expert Network: I work closely with a network of renowned, independent mediators who specialize in high-conflict international family and inheritance cases.
- Settlement Review: I provide "shadow coaching" and final legal review of mediation agreements to ensure they are enforceable and meet all formal requirements for recognition in Germany and abroad.

Top-tier legal expertise meets highly personalized counsel – securing your family's future across borders.
Transparent Legal Fees.
I believe that a trusting attorney-client relationship requires absolute financial transparency from day one. The German legal fee system can be unfamiliar to international clients, which is why I always provide a clear overview of the expected costs before any mandate begins.
Depending on the nature and complexity of your case, my services are billed either based on a transparent hourly rate (common for out-of-court consulting, drafting of contracts, and international planning) or strictly in accordance with the statutory fees of the German Lawyers' Fees Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz – RVG), which is mandatory for domestic court proceedings.
We will discuss the most sensible and cost-effective billing structure for your specific situation during our initial consultation. Depending on the complexity of the matter, I schedule up to two hours for this initial consultation and charge the statutory fee of € 226.10, including VAT.
Contact & Consultation.
I understand that international legal matters are often time-sensitive. You can expect a prompt response and a timely appointment. Consultations can be held in person at my Frankfurt office or via secure video conference worldwide.
I am looking forward to hear from you and discuss how I can help you with your matter. Get in touch with me today:
